Geological sites in Staffordshire can have one of two designations:

Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) are of national importance and are under statutory protection. Staffordshire Geological SSSIs

Local Geological / Geomorphological Sites (LoGS) are of local importance at a county level and are considered under planning.
